Fighting Childhood Hunger in the Big Spring School District

The PAW Packs program is a nonprofit community outreach whose mission is to provide meals to children in the Big Spring School District who otherwise might not have enough to eat on weekends,  during some holiday vacations, and throughout the summer break.

The backpack program began in January 2016 at Newville Elementary School where over 40% of the children received free and/or reduced price lunches.  The following year it expanded into the other elementary schools and the middle school.  We also operate a year round drive-thru program in which parents can pick up their children’s food at our distribution center.

Sign-ups for Friday food pick up are due no later than 11:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Pick up time is Friday  between 9:30-11:30 a.m. or Saturday between 9:00- 10:00 a.m.
